From a talk on my work presented at Sydney College of the Arts, 4/2017:
'I completed my Involuntary Sculptures series while reflecting on rape, lack of consent, and reclamation of abused and marginalised bodies through a photographic theory lens, in the understanding that photographing a person renders them, in the resulting photograph, an object. I entered this project wanting the finished product to be created using artificial intelligence as opposed to manual distortion of the base material. I achieved this by building an iOS app, linking scraps of code found via programming advice forums on the site GitHub.com in the Apple iOS programming platform XCode, that used AI to auto-blemish-correct areas of an uploaded image. My confidence presenting these works and their enthusiastic reception both indicated to me that this practice was a fertile area for me to grow.'
